第一次搭乘這條銚子電車時，雖然車身古老，
但還有站長，再次來訪時才得知這條路線幾度差點停駛。
因前社長資金超貸，加上這條路線向來不是熱門交通線，
先是改為無人車站（車票直接在車上購買），又因為多重人為及非人為因素，
銚子電鐵的命運與生存奮鬥史也彷若一部連續劇，十分戲劇性。
在日本這種行駛於鄉間的私鐵，多半帶有歷史意義及服務地方的使命而存在，
加上銚子與東京的交通並不密集，又發生經營者資金超貸以致於破產的問題，
一度讓銚子電鐵幾經走向停駛的命運。
但民間力量的可愛與偉大也在此時發揮得教人動容，
就在關鍵時刻，由該社發表的籌措電車維修費一文
（「電車修理代を稼がなくちゃ、いけないんです。」），
在獲得許多如2ch等知名bbs站的網民們主動發起買煎餅（銚子當地著名的名產）救電鐵，
支援電車維修費及資金募集的聲援活動快速擴散，
不但有網路還有以＜銚子電鉄的日記帳＞為名，記載著銚子電鐵的活動與動態，
許多大型媒體也跟進報導，總算人民團結力量大，
以支持銚子電鐵的營運支援計劃終於在資金到位後，於2008年5月宣佈達成任務，
而銚子電鐵也終於完成基本的裝修工程，重新出發，走向另一個歷史的新里程碑。
如同生存奮戰史的戲劇化，銚子電鐵沒有過度的觀光包裝，
但那種回味無窮的旅行樂趣，讓人難以抗拒。
僅一節車箱的銚子電鐵，多數車身皆以褐色為主調搭配黃或紅色，
十足的古董級老爺車造型，古老卻很迷人。
這條全國第二短的鐵道線，全程僅6.4公里，10個站，但每一站的建築風格各具其風味，
人在日本，沿著鐵軌前進，卻像是搭乘復古迷你火車來趟大歐洲鐵道之旅，
各車站展現不同的歐風迷人特色，無怪乎這條老鐵道，
向來吸引全國許多鐵道迷專程來搭乘或攝影。
雖因維修經費短缺，多數站都呈現斑駁及損壞狀況，但仍不失其味道。
荷蘭風味的風車小屋是銚子車站，觀音站則彷若置身在瑞士的登山鐵道列車站裏
（到此站時別忘了品嘗一下有名的鯛魚燒），
具有地中海風格的是君ケ浜站，還有融合葡萄牙風味的犬吠站，
都是鐡道迷或攝影迷們熱烈追逐的車站風情。
除了各站建築風格，鐵道沿線的風光雖然稱不上變化多端，
但田園風光讓人有種「走馬看花」的最高境界，尤其在農作物產豐盛的銚子市，
四季皆有不同的變化田園之美，讓人賞心悅目，黃橙橙的油菜花、
多彩而茂盛的紫陽光、大波斯菊及綠油油的高麗菜田
，乘著四季遞嬗的季節物語，載著青春學子的未來夢想，沿著電鐵寫下記憶。
任何季節到訪，都讓人溫暖而浪漫的青春之旅。
而2007年起，銚子電鐵異業合作，
還推出以＜桃太郎電鐵20周年紀念車輛＞為包裝的車身，
此款記念車種將行駛三年，直至2010年4月25日，
同時在也仲之町、笠上黑生及犬吠這三個站各設有其桃太郎故事中的角色石像。
這條觀光價值已超越運載目的的銚子電鐵，常常在周末或節日假期中，

JR Pass or JR east pass is accepted. Could you read Japanese? Cause so far, the official website just provides JAPANESE version. And below is the train route and each station sightseeing spots for your reference. It’s mini and doesn’t spend much time on traffic time, but there are many spots need to experience. Btw, you can buy one-day travel card of choshi densha. Placed order for the new book. Now waiting for delivery. I have to bother you again with some questions: 1. I may stay at Yokohama. Do you recommend me to buy Tokyo Furii Kippu for Choshi day trip? I am not sure if this pass allows me to travel to Chiba and if there is other restrictions (I don't know how to differentiate express and limited express train). Can the same pass be used on 銚子電車? 2. It's not my first trip to Tokyo. I won't be visiting the popular tourist spot. Do you recommend me to buy JR East for my 1-week trip? How do I estimate the cost-saving? 3. Dear Elena, You can find all travel tickets as http://www.jreast.co.jp/tc/pass/index.html because I don’t know where you plan to go, so can’t suggest which type ticket you should buy. overall, if you plan to TOHOKU area, you can buy JR east pass for 5-day. But the last on sale from Dec. 2011 is KANTO area pass (pls refer this web page as http://traininfo.jreast.co.jp/train_info/e/kanto.aspx ), it costs JP8,000 for 3-day and includes Cyoshi but no Yokohama, and cheaper than JR East pass (JP 20,000 for 5-day). Plan to go for Choshi day trip and Kawaguchi Lake day trip. Other days I will be hanging around Tokyo city area. So I only need pass for 2 days the most. Kanto area pass includes train to Choshi and to Kawaguchi Lake? What about Tokyo furii kippu and Tokunai pass?
dear Elena, If you just focus on Choshi and Kawaguchi Lake, recommend you to buy JR Kanto Area Pass and you can start to use this pass from arrival day to Yokohama, cause it also included. In Tokyo city area, if you want to try each interesting traffic (like 都電 or 舎人line) or have to change different traffic system, you can buy Tokyo free pass, and if just use JR or subway, Tokunai pass is enough.
